Well look at that…it’s FRIDAY! And what a glorious Friday it is! (Again, I’m pre-writing this post so I’m trying to send good future vibes to the universe) This week is another of my favorite topics: Book Boyfriend/Girlfriends!
I like to joke that I have a collection of book boyfriends. The problem is, I can’t narrow it down to just one. There are so many good characters to choose from and I am terrible at deciding.
Kell Maresh (Shades of Magic by VE Schwab) – Be still my grumpy man loving heart! From the moment Kell and his scowl walked across the page and into my life, I have been in love. The man has magic, auburn hair, and best of all: DOESN’T LIKE TO SOCIALIZE! I’m planning to do an audio reread of the Shades of Magic books and I cannot wait to adventure with Kell again!

Remus Lupin (Harry Potter series by JK Rowling) – Often overlooked for the brooding bad boy that is Sirius Black (don’t worry, he shows up later), Remus Lupin is probably one of the best book boyfriends out there. Yes, he has to lock himself away because he turns into a wolf once a month, but hey, that probably means he is good with restraints. *cough* moving on…Remus is level headed (when not wolfy), smart, a wee bit snarky, and loyal AF. All things I like in my fictional men. Also, this chick digs scars! OH! And he is constantly handing out chocolate. This is a habit I support!

Jeremy Danvers (Bitten by Kelley Armstrong) – I think I might have a thing for werewolves…but I accept this about myself and move on. I read Bitten aaaaaaaaaages ago and loved it. I think quite a few people swoon for Clayton when reading that book (and I do not blame them), but Jeremy always was the one I had my eye on. He has this air of complete control, but you can sense the animalistic side of him too. And I am here for that (I need you to imagine me doing a sassy hand clap in between the last three words of that sentence because that’s what is happening in my head as I type this). Though his TV counterpart looks nothing like he is described in the book, I can still appreciate this interpretation considering that scruff is on point *swoons*

Sirius Black (Harry Potter by JK Rowling) – Ah, my ultimate book bae. Seriously, this post has confirmed to me that I have a thing for male characters who turn into wolfish creatures. But Sirius just draws me in with that tragic backstory and devil may care smile. I still hold strong to the fact that if I ever won an obscenely large lotto jackpot that I would 100% finance a young Marauders movie because Y’ALL I NEED YOUNG SIRIUS!
Honorable Mentions (because if I wrote paragraphs for each of these, we’d be here for a while):
- Dara from The Daevabad Trilogy
- Jest from Heartless
- Harte Darrigan from The Last Magician
- Julian from The Forbidden Game Trilogy
- Elend Venture from Mistborn
- Numair from The Immortals quartet
- Wax and Wayne from Mistborn Era 2
- Lucas Hale from The Confectioner’s Guild
Who are some of your book boyfriend/girlfriends??
As always, if you have a Friday Favorites post drop a link in the comment so I can make a list for people to find your post!
